Ocean Plastic International Matchmaking

During the conference track of OPIM, experts will provide insights
in the plastic ocean industry. The 2022 presentations are as follows:

1. Maersk Supply Service: Reducing the plastic footprint

Maersk Supply Service is supporting the non-profit service The Ocean Cleanup and it's mission to reduce our plastic footprint and actively take part in solving this global environmental problem. The company has project-managed and delivered offshore campaigns in the largest accumulation of ocean plastic in the world, involving towing and trialling plastic-harvesting systems, in order to optimize the capacity for subsequent scale-ups. Two Maersk Supply Service anchor-handling vessels are presently engaged in this activity.

2. EU funding for healthy oceans, seas, coastal and inland waters

Niels Gøtke, Head of Division National Contact Point and member of the Programme Committee for Horizon Europe, Cluster 6, Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science will present at this year’s Ocean Plastic International Matchmaking (OPIM) event and discuss the upcoming EU funding initiatives for healthy oceans, seas, coastal and inland waters.
